The Ashes2New Music Project

Turning legal education into rhythm, storytelling, and human creativity

Born in law school and expanded into a catalog of 500+ original songs, our music project transforms complex legal concepts into memorable, accessible learning tools. Now, we're inviting artists to lend their voice to this mission.

How the Music Began

From Law School to a 500+ Song Catalog

The Ashes2New Music Project started in an unexpected place: law school. While studying, our founder Angelica Long began writing music as a way to memorize legal concepts — turning dense case law, constitutional principles, and courtroom procedures into rhythm, melody, and storytelling. What began as a personal learning tool quickly grew into a full creative archive.

To date, more than 500 songs have been written, each one rooted in legal education, empowerment, and accessibility. Some have been quietly released as music videos on YouTube, while many others remain unreleased, waiting for the right voices to bring them to life.

Why This Music Matters

Make legal education more accessible through rhythm, storytelling, and sound

Support our nonprofit mission to launch a community-focused law firm

Create a new pathway for learning that blends creativity with real-world knowledge

Invite artists to contribute their voice to something bigger than a single song

Why Legal Music Works

The Science Behind Learning Through Song

Music is one of the most universal learning tools we have. Here's why it works — and why it matters for legal education.

Musical Memory

Research shows that melody and rhythm activate multiple regions of the brain simultaneously, making information significantly easier to encode and recall than text alone.

Rhythm & Retention

Repetition set to a beat creates structural memory patterns. Legal concepts set to music stick in ways that textbooks and lectures simply cannot match.

Storytelling & Comprehension

Narrative and emotion help listeners connect abstract legal principles to real human situations, deepening understanding beyond memorization.

Reaching New Audiences

Music reaches people who may never open a law book — students, families, and communities who need legal knowledge but lack access to formal education.

Why This Project Exists

A Long-Term Lifeline for Families in Crisis

The Ashes2New Music Project is more than a creative experiment — it is designed to become a long-term financial engine that supports the core mission of Ashes2New: preventing homelessness in veteran families and providing emergency resources to families in need.

Veteran families facing sudden hardship receive immediate financial support

Parents and children on the brink of homelessness have a safety net

Families in crisis can access resources, guidance, and community support

Ashes2New can continue expanding its outreach without relying solely on donations

This project is creativity with purpose. Music with impact. Art that keeps families housed, supported, and safe.

Why We're Seeking Artists

Singing Belongs to the Human Voice

Our founder, Angelica Long, has always believed that singing belongs to the human voice. This project was never meant to be performed by AI or by someone who doesn't identify as an artist. It was meant to be a collaboration — a bridge between legal education and the creative community.
